Sri Balarama appeared as the seventh son of Devaki and was transferred to the womb of Rohini to protect Him from Kansa. He is the first expansion of Lord Krishna (Sankarshana) and the reservoir of spiritual strength. His appearance day is celebrated on the full moon day of Sravana month.
